What To Do With Leftover Halloween Pumpkins

pumpkin-zombies

Do you happen to have un-carved pumpkins sitting on your porch right now? We do. I consider them zombie pumpkins, not dead….but not alive, either. Or, perhaps they are guilt pumpkins…guilt at all of the things I should be doing with them (roasted pumpkin seeds are the best!). But with a puppy, and a yurt, and lots of work…pumpkins are kind of low on the list. Good thing they aren’t low for others in the Kelly farm family.

A Family Trip Up the Hillside

family-hike-to-top-rock

A very, very steep hillside. Mike and Eva had taken the trip up in the morning, which wore her out amazingly well (she slept for three hours…heaven!). So for our afternoon walk, Mike wanted me to go with him. Since we usually let the sheep and goats out to forage during the day, they decided to come with. Sheep Like to Help Out

Home! Sweet Farm!

brrr-freezing

Man, is it nice to be home (even if it’s pretty darn cold)!! And thanks to Citizens, our internet wasn’t down for very long at all. Whew! We had an amazing time being in Texas – breakfast tacos every morning, a delicious sushi feast, real-deal vietnamese food, bad chinese, a scorpion hunt, warm weather, Blue Bell ice cream, a Walking Dead marathon with some of my favorite people, and even a Texas high school football game. It was a nice break.

Nothing Cuter.

lamby-snuffles

Yes, this is a test. Which character in this photo most makes you say “awwww“? The little lamb? The adorable kid in overalls? Or the sweet faced dog? Hmmmm. Well, regardless of your answer…ours is the lamb. Because? That little lamb is our very own Snuffles, one year ago! Isn’t she cuuuuuute!?!

Playtime for the Sheep & Goats

snuffles

Friday was a long work day, with lots of strings to untangle and such…so around 5, I clocked out and went out to visit our “barnyard”. They never fail to put a smile on my face, well…unless it’s the GOATS, and they’ve escaped, and it’s raining. That is NOT smile inducing. But it was a pretty, cool fall afternoon, and I decided to take them on a free range jaunt. And so I set all four free from their Jurassic Park electric enclosure, and we took a walk.
