Things we’ve learned from four days of having an 11 wk old puppy. 1. Don’t leave things on the floor if you don’t want them to be demolished. 2. Silence is rarely a good thing. 3. The magic that is a good toy. 4. Nap time is blessed, and to be treasured. 5. When you get up at 6AM, it’s amazing what you can do by 9AM. 6. Puppy teeth are very similar to piranhas. 7. Cats are endlessly fascinating to puppies, whether you want them to be or not.

Before you say we’re crazy for getting a puppy this month, let me state our case. Mike and I have been wanting a dog for the longest time, and we have been waiting for just the right time and just the right puppy/dog. I can’t tell you how many rescue and breeder applications I’ve filled out in the last few months. And last week, we saw a one year old golden/sheltie mix in NC that melted our hearts. So I started talking with the rescue, and they cat tested the candidate.
