Meet Our Polar Bear & Model Goats!

OK, he isn’t a polar bear, he’s a Great Pyrenees pup (only 9 wks old!) and his name is Max. He’s a big mush and has done great with everyone thus far. And no. Before you ask, he did NOT stay inside last night. He slept in a hay box by the very chickens he’ll be guarding. Then today, he hung out with the goats and took a walk with Eva.  And our new goats are so sleek and sexy, they look like runway models compared to Shy Guy and Boomer. Who are in LOVE.

Wanted: Quality, Friendly Livestock Guardian

It has come to my attention that our new location has a bit of an issue with coyotes and hawks. I grew up in an area with coyote/stray dog problems, so I’m familiar with the sucker punch that comes when you find a beloved (or costly) animal dead in the pasture. Blunt, but true. Our chickens, goats and sheep will all be at risk. And I’m pretty sure the Dirty Noodle just earned her place as a full indoor cat, no more outdoor jaunts for her.
