Who Needs Hardwood Floors?

When you have plywood? Before you go thinking I’m crazy (like, ahem, Mike did), more and more residential homes are using sanded plywood with a polyurethane coating as flooring. It’s far more budget friendly, and actually looks pretty cool. And if you end up not liking it, or if your budget increases, you can use it as your sub-floor for the traditional hardwood plank application. But this isn’t a new or edgy concept.

DIY: Homemade Laundry Detergent

It only took me a month and a half…ha…but I did it! I measured borax, washing soda and soap into a clean pickle jar (economy sized like everything we buy these days!) and shook, shook, shook! The mixing was pretty much the hardest part of the operation, thanks to the food processor lending a hand with grating the soap. And it made the house smell super clean and fresh, even before using the laundry detergent. Score!
