Thanks to all of you, we had more than 80 visits to our blog yesterday. Guess we’re not the only ones that like yurts, eh??
I tell you what, it feels pretty darn great to be in one. Every single person that has stepped foot in here did the same thing…looked up, and said “oh wow, this is big” or something along those lines (yes, yes, that’s what she said). One of our friends asked me if we’re back to posting now. And as I listen to the rain pitterpattering on the yurt roof, I think yes. But.

We finally made it! By the time you read this, we should have received our final certificate of occupancy, and we’ll be official dwellers of Meadows of Dan, VA…in a yurt. The animals are adjusting well, and we’re starting to make a tiny dent in the boxes. I know I promised a video…but it won’t be of the yurt. Not yet…but SOON. Plus, a break down of the costs for those curious, and explanation of how we came to choose a yurt. But for now…

Thrill Seeking Chickens & An Update!
It’s been awhile, hasn’t it? Well, yesterday we spent our day in Yurt-ville and it was pretty exciting. Things are popping, as they say. And while there are headaches (like the shower kit that has the drain on the wrong side, but it’s an internet only item, and thus will take forever and a day to get replaced, and we need it now, sigh), we’re really…really…really excited. And even better, our chickens are too. Here’s a peek of them taking a walk on the wild side…just because they can. Seriously.
