You see. She thinks she is a sheep or a goat. She definitely doesn’t identify with the other hens, and if we’re being honest, she never has. She was the first chicken out of the box when we brought them home, and we thought that meant she’d be the lead, smart hen. But nope. She’s a loner in chicken terms. Never with the flock. Well, unless you’re talking about the flock of sheep and goats. In which case, she’s right there with them. Odd.
And these videos don’t truly capture things. Often we’ll go out to feed the chickens, and they’ll all come running. Except White Chicken. She’ll pop her head out from the sheep and goat shelter, and then tuck right back in with them. No interest.
It’s funny, except when it’s time to close up the sheep and goats. Then she’s impossible to get out of the pen, and squawk squawk SQUAWKS when we ever so rudely have to pick her up and remove her by force. Silly chicken!
