Good morning, Ladies & Mr. Rooster!

morning-ladies

Mike very kindly captured his early morning chicken chores for you (and me, since I’m usually still asleep, whoops!). I’ll let him speak for himself in ze video! Side note – Blair Witch flashbacks anyone? No? Just me? OK, OK…it’s just 7AM is a pretty scary concept for me. Add in the hoodie and queue creepy, scary movie music!

PS. Video shot prior to the crowing incident, but any guesses on who else might be a he, rather than a she? :) I’ve got my bet ready!

A Texas transplant who has floated from state to state, Erin finally feels at rest here in Floyd, VA. People drink out of mason jars, make their own yogurt/cheese/butter/you-name-it and hey, it might not be dry rub brisket, but the BBQ here is pretty freaking good. She has dreams of a dairy cow, a shady hammock to read and a happy dog at her side.

Last two days have been fantastic. Looks cold. I think chicken nugget is probably nervous about her name. Why don’t you cut the inuendo and just call her happy meal.

I am thinking of getting mike a hat cam. Would love to see him working with the goats

    Hope you are doing well.

    Dave

Ha, a hat cam would be amazing!! Back in the day he was going to get one for his bike helmet, but I think a goat cam would be even better. Especially when the goats get OUT! Ha ha, that video would have to have a lot of “bleep…bleep…BLEEEP!!”s

    Erin,

Mike looks so cute with his hoodie! I can’t believe how slowly your chicken come out of the coop! Our’s come-a-running, acting like they haven’t eaten for days! We’ll have to take a video of it. I didn’t hear Mr. Rooster crowing? Is he already soup?

    • Erin says:

Nope, not yet. Mix Chicken-Rooster is still in purgatory. We may or may not keep him. But the red hen that is starting to look pretty rooster-y? Not quite as safe…

    • Mike says:

Thanks! Well they usually come flying out… but it was the first COLD morning… and perhaps they knew I was up to taping them. Of course, I think they just wanna make me look stupid.. haha

  3. Dad says:

Haha… spot on with the Blair Witch reference, Erin. Maybe a bundle of sticks or two would push it over the edge… oh yea… and of course, lots of cursing!

  4. Kathy says:

I love the idea of a goat cam!! As for Blair Witch, we have to wait for Mike to catch a cold!! haha Great video Mike!

  5. Barbara Gardner says:

LMAO! Didn’t know there was purgatory for Mix Chicken-Rooster. BTW, we STILL haven’t been able to the Happy Hen Treats. Went to Tractor Supply twice now, and each time they told me they sold out. I’m not giving up though! If my doggies can have treats, then so can my hens and “You Bastard” too!

Got something to say? Go for it!
